It can be lonely to work from home
I have soon been working from home in 10 years, and I love it. But this is not for all. To work from home are lonely work. For you that follow my blog, know I have now worked from home in almost ten years now. I have written one article about this before, read here.
That article was concerning all the extra hours you put in because you have your office at home. But in this article, I will explain the difference between working from home and working in an office on the social level.
It is lonely!
Even if you have daily contact over email, Skype, telegram or any other chat service is not the same. Some working places, you are sitting in boxes, and don’t have any contact with people around you, but still; You know they are there.
But even if you have a work that there are not any direct contact. There is still time for some words with colleagues when you come to work and when leaving work. Then, of course, coffee break or/and a lunch break.
But when you are working from home, you are always by yourself. You have breakfast and lunch by yourself. And for some people that can be a little boring.
So would I like to change?
No, for me, this is perfect. I can sit for hours and hours in front of the computer working without any problem. In fact, many days I start at 5 am, don’t stop before 7:30-8pm. And both breakfast and lunch are taken in the office.
So how do a manage? I love to meet people but I have never had any problem to be by myself either. But the most important is still that you love what you are doing. If not, it would be difficult to even manage your normal 8 hours/day.
